The 1771-P6S is an auxiliary power supply designed for use with PLC-5 control systems. It has a nominal input voltage of 220V AC and an input range of 194-264V AC RMS. The module provides a maximum of 56W of real power and 89VA of apparent power. Its backplane output current is rated at 8A at +5V DC, with a maximum transformer load of 140VA.

This power supply occupies one slot and is mounted on the I/O chassis side plate. If the AC line voltage drops below the minimum threshold, the 1771-P6S generates a shutdown signal within the backplane. The shutdown signal is cleared only when the line voltage returns above the low voltage limit, ensuring that valid data is retained in memory.

The module comes with a 5-position terminal block and can be configured for either remote or local sensing through jumper selection. The two jumpers are located near the gold-plated edge connectors at the back edge of the module. To increase power capacity, two of these power supplies can be used in parallel within the same I/O chassis. A Power-Supply Paralleling Cable (1771-CT) is required for communication between the two modules.
