The 1786-DNBO is a DeviceNet Daughtercard designed for use with compatible industrial devices. This module enables seamless communication between devices in a DeviceNet network.

To configure the DeviceNet daughtercard, RSNetWorx for DeviceNet V3.0 Service Pack 2 is required. This software is essential for adding the module to the system scan list.

The module includes two switches to set the network address, with a valid range from 0 to 63, which is the supported range for DeviceNet networks. It is important to ensure that the node address is unique and does not conflict with other devices in the network. If the address is set to 99 and the module is restarted, it will erase the daughtercard from the defined scan list. This reset should only be done if necessary to clear the scan list. The switch settings are read during power-up to identify the set address and operation mode of the daughtercard.

The transmission rate of the network can also be adjusted using a separate hardware switch located near the removable connectors on the daughtercard. This switch allows the selection of speeds such as 125 Kbps when set to zero (0), 250 Kbps when set to one (1), and 500 Kbps when set to two (2). The switch settings are read during the module’s startup process.

This daughtercard is equipped with two bi-color LEDs for status indication. The Network Status (NS) LED shows the communication link status, while the I/O Status LED indicates the speed of I/O scanning.
