The 25-COMM-E2P adapter is a dual-port Ethernet/IP adapter designed for use with the PowerFlex 520 series drives, enabling network communication. This adapter is installed inside the host PowerFlex 520 drive and facilitates seamless integration into industrial automation systems.

Key physical components of the adapter include a communication card-drive header, a node address switch, CS1 and CS2 terminals, two Ethernet/IP ports, and status indicators. It supports multiple network topologies, including star, linear, and device-level ring configurations. Additionally, it allows the use of switches to set a network node address before applying power to the drive, with an option to disable these switches and use a BOOTP server instead.

The status indicators on the 25-COMM-E2P adapter provide real-time feedback on both the adapter’s operating status and network communications. It features configurable parameters with 16-bit datalinks in the I/O, catering to a variety of application requirements.

This adapter is fully compatible with PowerFlex 525 and 523 series drives. As a multicast device, it may require an IGMP snooping switch to function correctly in certain network environments. The built-in display and keyboard enable users to enter and modify adapter parameters as needed.

Before installation, it is essential to completely remove power from the host drive to prevent potential device damage or user injury.
