The Bently Nevada 31000-28-05-40-040-02-02 is an externally mounted Proximity Probe Housing Assembly engineered to provide secure mounting and convenient external access to proximity probes on critical industrial machinery. These housings are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine case, typically for radially mounted transducers used in vibration or Keyphasor measurements. The assembly is fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute's (API) 670 Standard for externally mounted proximity probe housings. Made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), an advanced, high-strength thermoplastic with excellent corrosion resistance, the housing allows external access to the proximity probe and its extension cable. This setup permits gap adjustment or probe replacement without requiring the disassembly of the machine. Other elements of the housing assembly are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and it can be ordered with pre-installed 3300 XL Proximity Probes and a variety of conduit fittings.
